On Monday, April 20, Nihon Michelin Tire Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Paul Perriniaux; hereafter, “Michelin”), the French tire manufacturer, published a free special page showcasing restaurants that are offering takeout meals. This is to enrich the lives of consumers around the country as they avoid going out, and to support establishments suffering financially during this pandemic.

This page is a joint operation between Nihon Michelin Tire and Gurunavi, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Akio Sugihara). Anyone can access it from the member-based Club Michelin website (https://clubmichelin.jp). Along with providing information on takeout meals from popular restaurants which are normally hard to secure reservations for, it provides support for restaurant management and allows consumers to enjoy good food in their own homes. At present, there are 128 restaurants in areas covered by the MICHELIN Guide around the country that offer takeout meals, and this list will be updated as required.
In addition, the ‘Tasty News’ section of the site (https://clubmichelin.jp/contents/news/) also carries details of takeout menus and recommendations for these particular restaurants.
Michelin will continue its business activities of providing information on recommended restaurants and accommodation facilities. In addition, Michelin hopes that the infections from coronavirus can be contained and that restaurants and establishments providing accommodation can return to normal business as soon as possible.
